AD-MIT alumni Quinton Zondervan and Rajesh Kasturirangan have sparked the conversation on climate change effects in Boston after a particularly extreme winter full of countless dumpings of feet of snow that culminated in a record breaking winter for snowfall. It is critical that we take immediate action to prevent even more severe effects in the future by rapidly eliminating our dependence on fossil fuel energy sources. And that we start doing the difficult but necessary work of planning for what is already happening, including increased flooding and rising seas. Seven feet of snow in winter and summer-long heat waves of 90F or above may soon be the new normal.
